Thinking Of Joining A Fraternity?
Welcome to Delta Sigma Phi, a place to Live, Learn, and Grow. Our fraternity has been a part of the Greek community of Towson University since 1988. Within these years, we are proud to say that we have created and accomplished many goals. We take part in many activities both on and off campus. We participate in activities from community service events to intramurals to formal festivities. Every semester we are always on the look out for the next leaders of our chapter, our campus and our community. This next semester is going to be an experience that each brother of our organization is looking forward to. Come experience why Greek Life with Delta Sigma Phi is a time where you Live, you Learn, you Grow… and you will never forget.
Why Join Delta Sig?
Fraternities are for men who want more than the average college experience: men who want to have a huge social life, be part of a brotherhood over 2 decades old, and that strive to become better.
Established in 1899, the organization has long stood for the time honored traditions created by our founders while also embracing the new century with the philosophy of our motto, “Better Men. Better Lives.” Delta Sigma Phi is brotherhood for a lifetime as we live by our core values: Culture, Harmony and Friendship.
Delta Sigs take part in every college aspect, far exceeding any college experience you could have outside of the Greek Community, and we offer more than any other fraternity at Towson University.
And to top it off… Delta Sigma Phi offers you academic, professional, leadership, philanthropic and social opportunities that no other student organization compares to.
Academics:
You are always a student first and a Fraternity man second. Delta Sigma Phi places emphasis on academic excellence, and as such, we encourage brothers to study together, require brothers to fulfill a minimum amount of study hours, and provide tutoring for those who are struggling in their classes.
Philanthropy:
Like most student organizations, a Fraternity has an obligation to give back to our community. We participate in activities ranging from raising money for the Red Cross to Seesawing for cancer.

Rush/Recruitment Week
In order to join, you have to go through Recruitment, or Rush Week. Rush Week is a week scheduled by the Interfraternity Council (IFC) when all fraternities invite men of the university to different recruitment events. Some of our past events included going out for all you can eat wings at Bill Bateman’s, going to the Chapter House for Poker, Football or a BBQ and staying on campus and playing basketball, dodgeball, or hosting a water pong competition. All transportation and expenses are all accommodated by the fraternity, and all events are dry (alcohol free) events.
We would like to invite you to come out to as many events as you wish. However, we also encourage you to at least come out and give fraternity life a chance, with us, or with any other respectable organization. If you are a student at Towson University and are interested in learning more about our brotherhood, please fill out the short form below.
Bid Session
The last process we go through is the bid session. A bid is an invitation to pledge our fraternity. This is the process in which the active members gather as a group and discuss which men would be the best addition to our group. We base our decision on GPA (High School or College), extra curricular activities, leadership experience and how they interact with the brothers or the other people coming out to Rush Week. We want to encourage having a good relation with the entire group, because if they are all selected, they will be part of the same pledge class, therefore the same team.
We also encourage you to not be intimidated by this process, we are just looking for all around good guys to help make our organization the best, and have fun in the process! If you do not get a bid the first time, we encourage you to come out again and again. Please realize that Rush Week is only 5 days, which means we only have 5 days to establish a relationship with each person who comes out!
If you’ve received a bid but your parents still need convincing, refer them here
